The project is implemented in the framework of Erasmus+ KA210-VET – Small-scale Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training and focuses on one of the most vulnerable groups in Europe: unaccompanied minors who face multiple barriers to integration, including language difficulties, cultural adaptation, social isolation, trauma and limited access to structured support.
The partnership consists of Urbanes Kulturteam Ruhr gGmbH from Germany, Parsec Cooperativa Sociale from Italy and ZEUXIS NGO from Greece. Each partner brings complementary experience in the reception, protection, care and integration of unaccompanied minors. Urbanes Kulturteam Ruhr contributes expertise in early-stage integration, cultural orientation, language acquisition and vocational pathways; Parsec brings long-standing experience in reception services, legal support, psychological care and social inclusion; while ZEUXIS contributes specialised experience in shelter management, psychosocial support, legal aid, non-formal education, career guidance and integration services for unaccompanied minors in Greece.
The main objective of EMBRACE UAM is to improve the quality of support provided to unaccompanied minors by strengthening the skills of professionals working with them, including social workers, educators, psychologists, legal advisors, trainers and front-line staff. Through peer learning, job shadowing, staff training, simulations, observational studies and dissemination activities, the project promotes the exchange of practical tools and methodologies across the three partner countries.
Expected results include improved professional competencies among participating staff, enhanced care and integration practices, stronger transnational cooperation, and the development and dissemination of good practices that can support organisations working with unaccompanied minors beyond the project partnership.
By connecting organisations with direct field experience, EMBRACE UAM aims to contribute to more inclusive, trauma-informed and sustainable support systems for unaccompanied minors, helping them build resilience, access opportunities and participate more actively in their host communities.
The project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme, KA210-VET – Small-scale Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training.
